Getting started

QR Flow is the ultimate solution for creating dynamic QR codes connected to monday. Some of the most common use cases include:

1. Trigger any automation when a QR code is scanned.
2. Prompt users to enter a number after scanning, then increase or decrease a column value in monday based on the input.
3. Display item details upon scanning, including values from files, status, numbers, dates, people, and other columns, or even show input fields to update the item directly.

And that’s just the beginning — QR Flow unlocks countless possibilities!

Installation

1. Click here to visit the installation page.
2. Specify the workspaces where the app should be installed.
3. Click Install.

Configuration

To successfully generate a QR code that triggers an action in monday.com, you need to set up two automations:

1. Automation creating QR code.
2. Automation specifying what should happen when QR code is scanned.

To ensure they work together, both automations must use the same QR code name.

Why not just one automation doing both?

We created QR Flow with a mission to provide a flexible solution. By separating QR code creation and scan automation we found multiple benefits including:

• Scanning one QR code can trigger multiple automations
• Over time you may change what QR codes do by assigning it different scan automation
• You can enable or disable QR codes by referencing them in a special automation
• You can see actual log of QR code scans - simply by checking the monday automation log

What’s the downside? You need to come up with QR code name :)
