Trigger any automation by scanning QR code

This page assumes you already have a QR code created. If not, please follow the QR code creation guide first. During configuration, ensure you use the same QR code name as in the QR code creation automation.

Scanning a dynamic QR code can trigger any monday automation, including third-party automations from marketplace apps using custom automation blocks. This guide will show you how to configure an automation that runs when a QR code is scanned.

There are two ways to configure the automation for QR code creation:

1. Configuration via pre-build recipe
2. Configuration via custom automation builder

The only required input field is the QR code Name, which links the scan automation to the generated QR codes. If you’re unsure of the name, simply scan the QR code — you’ll be redirected to an instruction page where the QR code Name is listed.

You can create multiple custom automations triggered by a QR code scan.
